Since joining Ignite in 2015, Zared has completed two projects for Ignite. He has worked for Alzheimers Otago and Choose Kids. In 2015 and 2016, Zared was Ignite’s Alumni Manager, responsible for the opportunities that Ignite offers alumni. As CEO in 2017, Zared is responsible for developing and executing the strategic objectives of Ignite Consultants alongside the Dunedin and Wellington executives. Zared networks with leaders from businesses, the University and not-for-profit organisations. Zared has a passion for Ignite’s win-win model, where University students can benefit from the real-life experience of working with not-for-profit organisations, and where Ignite’s clients can benefit from the skills and energy of some of the most talented students in our universities.

Amelia Cina : Managing Director - Wellington

Amelia first joined Ignite as a consultant, working with charity KidsCamp on their online marketing and recruitment strategy. As Managing Director, she is responsible for the strategic development of the Wellington branch and leading the executive. Amelia is a fourth year Law and Commerce student, majoring in Public Policy.

Marea Colombo : National Strategic Advisor

Marea has worked for Ignite for the past three years. She started as a consultant, and last year was able to work on the executive as the Operations Manager. This year, Marea is excited to take on the new role of National Strategic Advisor for Ignite; she is excited to connect more with community members to continually develop our services. In addition to her work with Ignite, Marea is currently working on her PhD in psychology.

Dunedin Executive

Harry Kirkwood : Operations Manager

Harry joined Ignite in 2015 as a consultant working with the Dunedin Community Learning Centre and in 2016 he took up the role of Events and Marketing Manager on the Executive. This year, Harry is the Operations Manager, responsible for managing the day to day operations of Ignite. Harry has thoroughly enjoyed his time with Ignite and is excited to work with each member of the executive to ensure that Ignite is producing the best results for the Dunedin community. Outside of Ignite, Harry is currently in his fifth year studying Law and Commerce, majoring in Accounting.

Calum Brash : IT Specialist

Calum joins the Ignite team this year in the role of IT Consultant. Calum brings extensive knowledge and experience to this role in which he is responsible for maintaining Ignite’s website and online communications. Calum is currently completing a BSC majoring in Information Science and Computer Science at the University of Otago.

Patrick Wynne : National Alumni Manager

Patrick begun his involvement with Ignite at the beginning of 2016 as a consultant for ANZMES. He continues his involvement as the National Alumni Manager. This role involves the continuation of opportunities for Ignite alumni by helping to facilitate internship positions on non-for-profit boards. Patrick would like to encourage more students to engage in the wider community they are involved with during their time at University. Currently in his fifth year, Patrick is studying Law and Commerce, majoring in marketing.

Tim Carey : Training and Events Manager

Currently in his fifth and final year, Tim is studying Law and Commerce, majoring in Accounting. Tim has been involved with Ignite since 2016 when he worked as a consultant for Rock Solid. This year, Tim will be our Training and Events Manager. Tim will be responsible for training, preparing our consultants for the 8-week project period, and organising the main Ignite events, such as the presentation evening. Tim is excited about the year ahead and is looking forward to sharing his knowledge with the new consultants so that they can generate a lasting, positive impact amongst the community.

Fiona Thorp : Projects Co-ordinator

Fiona first became involved with Ignite as a consultant for Dunedin Street Art in semester 2 2016. This year she is joining the executive in the role of Project Co-ordinator, where she has the responsibilities of engaging with not-for-profits and selecting the Ignite projects. Fiona is passionate about supporting and engaging with not-for-profits and supporting them to reach their full potentials. She is currently in her fourth year of studying Law and Arts, majoring in French language and minoring in Spanish language.

James McArthur : Marketing and Recruitment Manager

James joined Ignite as a consultant for the Otago Response Team in 2016. After getting a taste for the work Ignite does he is joining the executive as the Marketing and Recruitment Manager this year. James will be responsible for attracting and recruiting consultants, as well as marketing Ignite to the Dunedin community. James is in his 6th year studying law and a bachelor of science majoring in psychology.

Lauren Holloway : Development Manager

Lauren has been involved with Ignite since 2015 where she worked as a consultant for Life Matters. After spending the last two years working in various roles for the Projects Team, as well as a consultant for the Ignite Advisory Group, Lauren is stepping in a new direction, taking on the role of Development Manager. Currently in her fourth year and on exchange at the University of California: Santa Cruz, Lauren enjoys inspiring others to achieve success in their own right, and loves a challenge.

Alex Withington : Commercial Manager

Alex first became involved with Ignite as a consultant in the second semester of 2016. During this time he had the pleasure of working with the Cancer Society Dunedin. Alex has taken on the role of Commercial Manager and will be engaging with community organisations and businesses alike in order to develop long lasting relationships. Alex believes his role will fit well with his studies, as a fourth year Law and Commerce student, majoring in Accounting, he looks forward to putting his skills to good use.

Tom Kirk : Project Manager

Tom became involved with Ignite in 2016 when he first worked as a consultant for Community Care Trust, then as part of the Ignite Advisory Group. This year he has joined the Executive as one of two Project Managers. This role involves engaging the consultants on a wide variety of projects, and advising them on any problems they face. Tom enjoys working with great people and confronting new challenges. He is currently studying a DipGrad in Statistics.

Oliver Allum : Project Manager

Oliver joined Ignite in Semester 2 2016 as a consultant working with the Dunedin Street Art trust. After seeing the incredible impact Ignite had working with the Dunedin Street Art team, he is excited to return as a Project Manager to help other teams succeed in helping local organisations. Oliver is in his 5th year of university, studying Law and Commerce, majoring in Economics.

Molly took on the role of Operations Manager in Trimester 1 2017. After a stint as a consultant and Project Manager in 2016, she is ready to take the reigns and lead the Wellington executive team. Molly is a fourth year law and arts student at Victoria, who is excited about using her leadership and not-for-profit experience. Young people using their skills to give back to their communities is an incredible initiative Molly is proud to be a part of. She looks forward to fostering Ignite’s growth in Wellington and beyond.

Grace Gollan : Project Coordinator

After an exiting stint as one of our Project Managers, Grace has recently moved into the role of Project Coordinator. She is tasked with sourcing and overseeing three projects, networking with not for profits in Wellington, scoping horizon projects, selecting and overseeing three professional mentors, and liaising with the managers of each project. Since joining Ignite in 2016, Grace can’t get enough of the not for profit sector. Meeting others who are passionate about making a difference in the community is what gets her out of bed in the morning! She is absolutely loving her time with Ignite and will continue to foster the special relationships that Ignite has with other organisations here in Wellington with contagious enthusiasm.

Kerry McNulty : Training and Events Manager

After working as a consultant for the New Zealand Organisation for Rare Disorders, Kerry joins the Ignite Executive as the Training and Events Manager in 2017. She aims to utilise her experience in consulting to help enable the teams to provide valuable and quality assistance to their partner organisations whilst also developing as individuals. Kerry is a fourth year law and commerce student at Victoria University.

Zac Thomas :

Zac Thomas

Zac is a Economics and Politics student and first started with Ignite as a consultant in 2015 working with Emerge Supported Employment Trust. He returns after an exchange to Chile in 2016, which reinforced to him the unique role that Ignite plays in the local community. Zac is passionate about improving the relationships between university students and non-profit organisations, so that long-term benefits can be achieved in the local community.

Jess Lewis : Marketing and Recruitment Manager

Jess is a fourth year Law and Commerce student majoring in Taxation and Finance at Victoria University. Last year, Jess was a consultant in the Kids Camp team. Jess is passionate about addressing mental health issues through social enterprise ventures, and has volunteering experience with suicide prevention organisations. In 2017, Jess has taken on the role of Marketing and Recruitment Manager and aims to better Ignite’s recruitment processes to maximise diversity of consultants.

Ellie joined Ignite in Trimester 1 2017 as a consultant and team leader, she has now returned to fulfil the role of Marketing and Recruitment Manager for the Ignite Executive team. Ellie is studying a Bachelor of Design Innovation and a Graduate diploma in Marketing and aims to integrate her expertise in photography and design to professionalise all media platforms for Ignite Wellington development. Ellie is excited with the executive opportunity to utilise her marketing and design skills to attract and recruit consultants and market Ignite to the Wellington community with a new spin.

I am a fifth year Law/Arts student majoring in Political Science and Sociology. As project manager I am excited to be part of the Ignite experience again, facilitating the relationship between my group and our organisation. I am passionate about using the experience and privilege gained at university to help our local not for profit sector, improving our Wellington community.

Max is in his final year of a Bachelor of Building Science majoring in Project Management. Max joined Ignite in 2017 Trimester one as a Consultant and Team Leader, he has since returned as a Team Project Manager in the Ignite Executive. He has a deep passion for project work and consulting with previous and current work experience in project management and upcoming 2018 position as a project management consultant. Max is excited to help facilitate his team to collaborate, communicate and find joint success with their not-for-profit organisation.
